HIV/AIDS: Not just a gay disease

           When you think of HIV/AIDS, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Ah it’s a gay disease, but think again, although. It is still largest affected demographic now it’s not just them. But the stigma continues for the LGBT community. Let us put a stop on this.

        In the latest data of the Center for Disease Control or CDC that gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men, still accounts for the most HIV cases in the US. In fact in 2010 alone, there have been 29,800 new cases. Second is the heterosexual who uses drugs throw injecting contaminated needles. So do not practice unprotected sex.

       There were some instances that people who aren’t gay or they don’t use drugs but they have gotten HIV. Take for instance young Ryan White, Ryan has hemophilia and in routine blood transfusion, the blood that was transported to him happen to have HIV, he died 1990 after battling the disease for 6 long years

         HIV and AIDS is not a gay disease in Africa, In Africa HIV is pass during pregnancy from mother to their babies, In Africa where medicine can’t rich the far, far communities.

       HIV and AIDS is a treatable and very preventable disease. It is like having type1diabetes, So STOP DISCRIMNATION OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE HIV. They are just like you.
